MarcomDeli and the

Microsoft Certified Trainer Program (MCT)

Introduction

Many of Microsoft’s software and technologies are technically complex, and computer professionals and other end users may require training from knowledgeable trainers in aspects of their use. To make such training generally available, Microsoft has developed the Microsoft Certified Trainer Program (the “MCT Program”), which grants membership to professional trainers and learning consultants who demonstrate and maintain technical and instructional expertise on Microsoft technologies. It is therefore necessary to include a separate and specifically adapted instructional skills course in MCT Program.

Proof of instructional skills must be provided with the application to join the MCT program. The way to demonstrate instructional skills is completing a course from one of the approved Microsoft ISCP (Instructional Skills Certified Provider).

From 2002, Marcom Deli has been one of these approved ISCP. More than 400 trainers have participated in this program to date.

Learning objectives

This program has been designed to help technical people to communicate their knowledge and transmit their ideas to their audiences. Although the program is focused on training issues it also includes tips that will help to deliver presentations. Public speaking skills are also invaluable to an effective teacher.

The main learning objectives are the following:

  1. Understand the Psychology of Learning.
  2. Know how to:
      1. prepare a training program,
      2. deliver a training session.
  3. Discover the particularities of teaching IT.
  4. Ap Learn main tips about effective presentations.
  5. Discuss situations with other colleagues.

Evaluation Criteria

It is necessary to have attended 100% of the training sessions. During the sessions it is a requirement that all students have cameras and micros on, with an Internet connection that allows them to fully participate in debates and activities.

During the training the student must make 2 presentations that will be evaluated by a panel of experts. We record each presentation. We will share a copy of the presentations with the panel of experts so they can review, evaluate and offer qualified feedback. It is a requirement to pass the course that the panel of experts, after reviewing the presentations, grant the qualification of «pass».

We evaluate the following aspects of the presentations:

  • Body language
  • Verbal communication
  • Use of metaphors or similar resources
  • Time management skills
  • Interactivity
  • Appropriate presentation tools, media, and visual aids

If the student does not meet the success criteria, we will create an action plan that provides specific guidance to resolve any issues that we identified. We will give an opportunity to deliver another teach-back presentation later.

Certificate

After attending the course and receiving the «apt» in the exam, Marcom Deli sends the student a certificate in pdf format that can be uploaded to the «Instructional Training» section to complete the MCT certification process.

Methodology

The course is 100% live remote. The platform is Microsoft Teams.

We use a combination of master class, videos, debates (oral + chats) and exercises to help students understand and practice the ideas.

There are not prework activities.

Language

Languages supported are Spanish and English. We will offer courses in each language.

Price

The cost for this course for year 2024 is 1.200€ (+ legal taxes) per student. It covers classes and the evaluation of experts. We do offer group discounts.

Prerequisites

All candidates need to complete their Microsoft technical certification first, as described by Microsoft. In the registration process candidates are required to present their Microsoft Certification Identification Number (MCID). Without this code it will not be possible to register. Marcomdeli does not assume any responsibility in case the student does not provide a true MCID. If the MCID is not correct, Microsoft will not recognize our «Instructional Skills» certificate and therefore will not grant the MCT certificate to the applicant. Marcomdeli will not return the money of the course in this case.

Frequency of courses

There will be quarterly editions of this training.

The course consists of 2 sessions of 9 hours each one. Sessions will be spread over two consecutives days.

The usual hours will be from 9am to 7pm CEST (Madrid time, Spain).

The frequency of courses, distribution of sessions and schedules may change according to the circumstances.

Group size

The group size will be from 6 to 12 students.

We reserve the right to cancel a course if we have fewer than four registered students 10 days before the start of the first session.
